This may be a little tricky for new smockers. I recommend looking in the A-Z of Smocking if you run into trouble.
Beginning on row 7 work a 4-step full-space trellis down to row 8 and pick up a bead everytime you work a cable. Then work a mirror image from row 8 up to row 7. Remember, if you beaded a cable on the previous stitch do not pick up another bead just slide your needle and thread through the bead. Every cable should only have 1 bead on it. Size 11 seed or 10 seed bead works best.
